Valtrex (valacyclovir hydrochloride) is used to work against herpes simplex virus. This drug was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in December 15, 1995. Valtrex Directions

 

Valtrex must be taken orally, twice a day for acute outbreaks and once daily as a maintenance dose if required. Doses must not be skipped as much as possible. It is also not recommended to stop the medication too soon so that its effectiveness will not be compromised.

 

Valtrex Side Effects

 

Known side effects of this drug may include nausea, headache, and loss of appetite, weakness, stomach pain and dizziness. Valtrex Precautions

Missed Dose of Valtrex

 

If for any reason you miss a dose of Valtrex, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your normal dosing schedule. Never take two doses at once to catch up.
