Ultracet Pain Relief Medication

Ultracet is unique in that it combines Tramadol, one of the leading prescription pain relievers along with acetaminophen, a common over-the-counter analgesic, to control pain. Short-term use (five days or less) of Ultracet has been approved for managing acute pain. Powerful relief is provided by Ultracet from many different kinds of pain. These include joint pain, strains and sprains, muscle aches, and joint pain flares (associated with osteoarthritis), post-operative recuperation.

Ultracet Directions
Ultracet can be taken either on an empty stomach or along with food. Some patients experience side effects during Ultracet including, dizziness or drowsiness and constipation. If you develop itching, a skin rash, confusion, unusual tiredness, hallucinations, change in mood or behavior, yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine or pale stools; check with your doctor as soon as possible. Additionally your doctor should be contacted immediately if you experience difficulty breathing or swelling, swelling of the face or mouth, or seizures. Check with your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or they become worse. Ultracet should be stored away from light and heat at room temperature in a tightly-closed container.
Ultracet Precautions
Do not take Ultracet if you have had an allergic reaction to dihydrocodeinecodeine, hydrocodone, oxycodone (for example Vicodin Tylox, Tylenol with Codeine,). Severe reactions include hives, a severe rash, difficulty breathing or dizziness. Notify your doctor if you experience tightness of the chest, swelling of face, eyelids, or lips, difficulty breathing, or if you develop hives or a rash. Extra doses of Ultracet should not be taken unless instructed by your doctor. Do not exceed recommended dose or take this medication longer than perscribed. The use of Ultracet may be habit forming. Caution should be used if you are going to drive or operate machinery. Check all other medication labels closely and do not take other products containing acetaminophen while taking Ultracet. Do not consume alcohol while on Ultracet. Sit or stand slowly if dizziness occurs. Before receiving emergency care, surgery, or medical or dental treatments inform the treating doctor that you are taking Ultracet. If you are experiencing withdrawal symptoms (sweating, nausea, diarrhea, tremor, nervousness, or trouble sleeping), consult your doctor. Women: Speak with doctor if planning on becoming pregnant. Do not breast feed while taking Ultracet as it is excreted in breast milk.
Drug Interactions with Ultracet
Do not take Ultracet if you are currently taking cyclobenzaprine, carbamazepine tricyclic antidepressant, promethazine, monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), serotonin reaptake inhibitor (SSRI), appetite suppressor, mood, or behavior condition medication. If you are taking isoniazid, guanidine, or an oral anticoagulant Additional monitoring of your dose may be required.
Ultracet Overdose
If you suspect an overdose immediately contact an emergency room or your local poison control center. An overdose of Ultracet may include sweating, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, dark urine, unusual drowsiness, slowed breathing, deep sleep, or loss of consciousness, even coma and death.
Missed Dose of Ultracet
Take a missed dose of Ultracet as soon as possible. If it is almost time to take your next dose, go back to your regular scheduled dosing by skipping the missed dose. Taking two doses at once should be avoided.
