Uses of Flumadine
Flumadine is an anti-viral flu medication used to prevent and treat infections caused by the flu virus.
Flumadine Directions
Flumadine should be taken orally as directed by your doctor. Do not take more than directed. If your doctor prescribes Flumadine for flu prevention, it will usually be taken only once or twice daily. If it is given for treatment of the flu, it is typically taken for five days. Do not stop taking Flumadine until you have finished the entire course of treatment.
Flumadine Side Effects
The most commonly noted side effects of Flumadine include nausea, nervousness, dizziness, fatigue, trouble sleeping and difficulty concentrating. If symptoms worsen, talk to a doctor. Consult your doctor immediately if you develop a rash, yellowing of the eyes or skin, sudden mood changes, confusion or changes to your vision.
Flumadine Precautions
Talk to your doctor about your medical history before taking Flumadine. Tell your doctor if you have a history of liver or kidney disease, blood disorders, allergies or seizures. Be careful when driving or operating heavy machinery while taking this medication. Elderly people will be more sensitive to Flumadine. Only use Flumadine when truly necessary during pregnancy. Weigh the risks carefully. Talk to your doctor before using Flumadine if you are breast feeding.
Missed Dose of Flumadine
Never take two doses of Flumadine at once. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose, and resume your normal dosage schedule.
