Cyclobenzaprine may cause side effects, but they are usually mild and not serious. The most common side effects are drowsiness, dry mouth or dizziness.
Cyclobenzaprine Precautions
Patients who have taken MAOI's should not use Cyclobenzaprine for at least two weeks after discontinuing them.
Cyclobenzaprine Drug Interactions
Cyclobenzaprine may adversely interact with some other drugs, so always talk with your pharmacist or doctor about the drugs you are currently taking. Cyclobenzaprine is known to interact with antidepressents, particularly MAOI's. If you are taking MAOI's, using Cyclobenzaprine could cause a sudden spike of fever and seizures.
Cyclobenzaprine Dosage
Cyclobenzaprine is most commonly taken three times daily in divided doses of 20 to 40 milligrams. You should never take more than 60 milligrams of Cyclobenzaprine in 24 hours.
